The E-Z-GO® Legacy
E-Z-GO was created in 1954 in a one-room machine shop in Augusta, Georgia. Two brothers shared a dream to build a better golf cart - one that would improve the experience on the green and exceed the expectations of customers. This dream soon became a reality that translated into multiple models and a quickly growing audience of customers eager to buy the E-Z-GO golf carts.
The company saw such great success that they soon expanded into other product lines. It wasn't long before they began offering utility vehicles and personal transportation vehicles as well. They quickly honed their skills at building vehicles designed to transport people with comfort and ease.
In 1960, E-Z-GO became a part of Textron Inc, which is a worldwide multi-industry company with a passion for the prevention of pollution and a dedication to environmentally safe practices. Today their vehicles are designed and manufactured by the Textron division called Textron Specialized Vehicle. Headquartered in Augusta, E-Z-GO makes tens of thousands of models a year. Many of these feature industry-leading technology, such as a parking brake that gets engaged automatically each time you come to a stop. It's one of the many things that led to the company earning the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence in 2009. Its facility was also chosen as one of Industry Week magazine's top ten manufacturing plants in North America.
