If you know that you want a powersports vehicle, but you haven’t narrowed it down further, then you’re probably looking for more information. As your Texas powersports dealership, Richmond Equipment has provided you with this quick guide to the different types of powersports vehicles we sell so that you can come into our dealership ready to make your decision.

ATVs

All-terrain vehicles, also known as ATVs, four-wheelers, or quads, are powersports vehicles that are operated with a set of handlebars that steer and turn the vehicle. Their knobby tires and smaller profile make ATVs great for recreational off-roading in particular. Typically, only the operator can ride on an ATV, with some models capable of handling a second passenger seated straddle-style behind the operator, so they’re not good for groups.

UTVs

Utility terrain vehicles, also known as UTVs or side-by-sides, are similar to ATVs, but tend to be bigger, with space for anywhere from two to six passengers at a time, along with room for cargo. UTVs may have half-doors, windshields, and a canvas top, but wearing safety gear on them is still important. Work crews get a lot of use out of UTVs, especially those with high hauling and towing capacities.

Golf & Industrial Carts

Certain types of golf carts and specially designed industrial carts can be excellent work vehicles. Their compact size, combined with features like a powerful gas or electric engine and a cargo box at the rear, make these types of carts a good choice for maintenance and landscaping workers.
